About Ecoterapia.

Our Mission.

As we experience climate catastrophe, mass extinction of species and a wide epidemic of depression and loneliness with its roots in nature deficit disorder, Ecoterapia’s mission is to facilitate nature reconnection for the reciprocal healing of both humans and nature. As Baba Dioum once said, “We won’t save places we don’t love, we can’t love places we don’t know, and we can’t know places we haven’t learned.” This is why Ecoterapia’s focus is to help humans re-connect with inner and outer nature, in order to restore our love for earth, remember our wholeness, and return back to a sacred way of relating with the more-than-human world, community and Self.

Our offerings are here to help you unearth your psyche upon the land in order to see yourself reflected in the mirror of nature, connect with your own inner realm, the natural world and other humans bent on shaping the world in their own unique ways.

About Reet.

Reet (pronounced Rhett) Rannik Carías (she/they/ella) is a Latinx wilderness guide, song carrier, yoga student and teacher, creative writer, and psychotherapist-in-training devoted to practices of nature-reconnection for the reciprocal healing of both humans and the wild.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic and carrying Estonian, Colombian, Dominican, and Celtic Irish roots, Reet’s relationship with the living world has been shaped by both tropical waters and desert landscapes. Their path deepened while living nomadically as a wilderness therapy guide working with at-risk youth in the deserts of the Yavapai and Apache peoples, where the land itself became a teacher. The saguaro cacti, sotol yucca, cottonwoods, nopales, creosote, and the waters of the Verde River formed part of their ecological initiation—inviting a deepening relationship with place, humility, and belonging within the more-than-human world.

Reet holds a master’s degree in Transpersonal Ecopsychology from Naropa University and has continued weaving this body of work through wilderness guiding, rites of passage work, and nature-based practices that invite people into meaningful relationship with the Earth.

They are the hearth behind Ecoterapia, a practice devoted to reconnecting inner and outer nature through ritual, song, creative expression, and time on the land. Drawing inspiration from ecopsychology, buddhism, animism, Gestalt practice, deep listening, and earth-honoring traditions, Reet holds spaces that invite participants to remember themselves as human animals in living relationship with the Earth.

Rooted in the archetype of the wounded healer and guided by earth wisdom, Reet’s work seeks to create spaces where personal healing and ecological belonging can unfold together.
